------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chocobo Breeding
The first step in breeding in a gold
chocobo is getting a good yellow male chocobo and then
getting a good yellow female chocobo. You can find them at the chocobo tracks near Rocket Town. Once you have them, go to gold
saucer and race them both until they have a good rank like A or S.
After you do that you need to go back to the chocobo farm
and breed them with a carob nut. The carob nuts can be stolen from the red monsters around the Chocobo Sage's house. When you have bred them, you will get either a
blue, green, or yellow chocobo. If the chocobo turned out
to be yellow, just start the game over until you get one
that is green or blue. Once you get one of those color
chocobos wait a while to breed the good yellow ones again
so that you can get a chocobo of a different gender that
is blue or green (whatever color you didn't get the first
time you breed them). Now you should have a green chocobo
and a blue chocobo of opposite sex. Take them to Gold
Saucer and race these 2 until you get "A Rank"
or "S Rank". After you have done this, go to
the chocobo farm and breed those 2 with another carob nut.
Keep trying to breed them until you get a black chocobo.
After you get the black chocobo take it to Gold Saucer
and get it to "S Rank". Now Go up to the snowy
area where there are chocobo tracks and catch and try to
catch a lot of chocobos. After you do this, go to the
chocobo farm and see if you caught a chocobo that Chocobo
Billy says is wonderful. If you did then put it in a pen.
If you didn't, then go back and keep catching chocobos
until you get one. Take the wonderful chocobo to Gold
Saucer and get it up to the highest rank you can get it
to. Back at the chocobo farm try to breed the black
chocobo and the wonderful chocobo with a Zeio nut. The Zeio nuts can be found by stealing from the Goblins on a island on the northeast part of the map. When you finally breed the wonderful chocobo and the black chocobo might get a Gold Chocobo, and you might not. Keep
breeding until you get one that is Gold. It might take a
while, but it is well worth it.
